FOR YOU, WHO CAN'T GET HIM TO DO ANYTHING

MOTIVATION
Copy of 1AA_1KEDVENC_edited.jpg

MOTIVATION

What is it, and why is it important? Learning is a self-rewarding process in the brain, motivation is the catalyst. We learn what interests us. We use motivation to make the uninteresting interesting. Static and dynamic rewarding and self-rewarding. Observing your dog. Get to know the various types of rewards: play, letting go, food, treats, social cues, and positive verbal or physical feedback. When do we reward with food and when with a ball? Fulfilling your dog's instincts. Breed characteristics. Why a toy might be appealing to the dog: by rewarding, I am offering something better than what my dog thinks would be fun (chasing the scooter or birds). The five freedoms. The dog needs to have power over what happens to him it for efficient learning. How can we incorporate this principle into training or decompress days? What is something my dog has the power to decide? And what is it that we can control the outcome of/opportunity to do, and give the dog only the illusion of choice (which is otherwise perfectly satisfying)? The relationship between motivation, rewards, and play + How to play with our dog? - foundations.

HABITUATION TO EVERYDAY STIMULI

FOR YOU, WHOSE VACUUM CLEANER IS SCARY

241895785_238660544854679_8416553680845110874_n.jpg

HABITUATION  TO  EVERYDAY  STIMULI

We will work on the encouragement of your puppy, revealing the sources of his fear in a pleasant and gentle way. Gradually, at your dog's pace, with a lot of patience and unstressful practice, we will introduce him to the objects and items that make him feel insecure and fearful. During the puppy's sensitive period in his new home, new stimuli can be frightening. Also, unexpected fear reactions around even familiar surroundings can develop as a result of brain maturation processes. With exercises tailored to your dog, we will gradually build confidence, self-regulation, and neutrality towards these objects, items, and situations. Rescue dogs may react with fear to objects they have never seen before, so we will help soften the familiarisation process to make interactions with the items they are afraid of trauma-free, pleasant, playful, and enjoyable. My survey will reveal if therapy is needed.

FOR YOU, WHOSE IS NOT USED TO OTHERS

SOCIALIZATION

SOCIALIZATION

Is your dog afraid of people/dogs? Does he hide when guests come over? Can't bring him to the dog park? Did you miss your dog's sensitive socialization period due to puppy illness/early weaning/pre-adoption/unknown reasons? Our aim is to ensure that your dog can live a relaxed, fulfilled, happy life with the others.

Dogs are not made for the city, they have a lot to adapt to. But here you have to adapt too! For example, if your dog is sensitive to noise, if it's quieter and calmer in the evening, you can postpone the walk, get him used to the car, get him used to foreign objects, and build up neutrality eg. scooters and bicycles. Getting used to the zebra, establishing a daily routine, building and reinforcing a sense of security, and building self-confidence.
